I would like to point out that this comic comes out tomorrow, and features both the Doom Patrol and the Metal Men, starring roles, nine yards, I’m excited.
I’m going to get it, but I don’t have very high expectations.
Here’s my abridged history of DP for anyone who’s not familiar with them:
1963 — 1968: Coolest fucking comic ever.
1977 — 1988: Ummm… you guys really don’t “get” Doom Patrol, do you? *yawn*
Feb. 1989 (vol.2 iss. 19) — Jan. 1993: What the holy… OMG… I changed my mind… now *this* shit really is the best comic ever!
Feb. 1993 — Feb. 1995: Wow. The weirdness of Morrison’s team written by a woman who *really* knows how to write? Plus a disembodied head? Fucking awesome!
2001 — 2002: Ummmmmm Marvel Comics is down the street, folks. *yawn*
2004 on: John Byrne must fucking DIE!
So… yeah… we’ll see…
