The First Days of Spring Official Trailer on Vimeo (via Vimeo)

Can’t wait for both album and film.

"‘Oh,’ Chelsea said, and almost said, ‘Cool,’ as she had a thing—back in college, mostly—where she’d say, ‘Oh,’ wait a moment, say, ‘Cool,’ and then grin self-consciously. It was her way of saying, ‘I have no idea how to respond to what you just said. I have no idea, but other people, I’m sure, do. It’s my fault, not yours. I know I seem disinterested, or something. You shouldn’t trust that. I just didn’t know how to react. The grin means I’m amiable.’"

It’s A Musical / All My Hollowness to You, by Tall Dwarfs

It’s not very often that I hear a cover and think, “Wow. I like this *better* than the original.” This, is one of those rare occasions. Thanks for sharing, chirps. Now I have a new band to add to the list. :)

It's One of Those Days…

The sky is gray, it’s a bit chilly… I can faintly smell the Bay.

All I want to do is listen to shoe-gazey indie pop and self-important post-punk; look at beautiful pictures and let them affect me; and draw and cut gouges in to linoleum.

Today, I’m canceling all appointments.

I’m going to put on my music, get out my knives and get lost in a fantasy world where I’m a character from a Wes Anderson movie.

Basically going to be a self-absorbed hipster artist for the day. And I’m o.k. with that.

A few notes:

CNN gets my vote for Excellence in Science Reporting, Not! award of the week. Rats != Mice. Geesh.
This is actually an awesome finding, and I can’t wait to see what the final outcome is.
Now I wish there actually was a breed of blue and white mouse… or rat. I would own at least one. How freakin’ adorable is that poor little guy?

Lello Bookshop by MissxGrace
In Porto, Portugal
We don’t really get bookshops like this in Toronto…
Via thelibertines

Nor in the SF Bay area. That’s probably a good thing, though. I don’t think I would ever be able to leave shop like that.

Bao Down Before the One You Serve!

Now, here’s a recipe I can handle:

  1. Remove Bao from bag.
  2. Place Bao with paper on microwave-safe plate.
  3. Loosely wrap Bao with a moist paper towel and place in  microwave.
  4. Microwave on HIGH for 50 seconds or until hot.
  5. Let Bao sit for 2 minutes before serving.

Only… I’m overly paranoid of getting trichinosis, so I cook them much longer.
